Will The Clearblue Fertility Monitor Increase Your Chances Of Becoming Pregnant?

Posted by Filed Under Clearblue Fertility Monitor, Featured with No Comments

The clearblue fertility monitor is an over the counter digital monitoring product that allows women to see at what times during their monthly cycle they are ovulating – and hance have a greater chance of becoming pregnant.

Why You Would Use The Clearblue Fertility Monitor

The statistics show that, on average, it will take approximately 6 to 18 months to become pregnant.  This means that, for a couple who have no reproductive system issues and are having regular intercourse, there is less than a 25% chance that she will conceive in any given month.

This can be a very frustrating time for a couple and the longer the wait the more frustrating and worrying the situation can become.

How The Clearblue Fertility Monitor Was Tested

The makers of the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, Inverness Medical, tested this product using 653 women between the ages of 21 and 40.  348 were given the fertility monitor to use for a period of two months and the other 305 were not.

Both sets of women recorded dates of intercourse and frequency and also menstration information.  The women using the monitor also recorded the digital readings given by the monitor that showed fertile days.

The results showed that one third more women become pregnant who were using the monitor – that is 23% of monitor users became pregnant versus only 14% who were not.

How The Clearblue Fertility Monitor Works

The digital monitor works by checking hormone levels of both Estrogen and Luteinizing.  By checking the levels of these two hormones (instead of checking of they chnage over time as with other fertility monitoring products) the clearblue product is able to identify 6 fertile days instead of the usual 2.

A personal fertility history is stored in the monitor so it can become more acurate over time and it predicts the Luteinizing surge of hormones with 99% accuracy.
